The Grey Havens
It started out explaining what I wanted, but I guess it turned into a Lord of the Rings poem. The same day I wrote "Father" I wrote this. I want to get away from this place, find somewhere peaceful and more natural then New Jersey. If there was such a place as the Undying lands, I would beg an elf to let me come. Elves love nature and that is my way of life. People in this town don't appriciate it, let alone care about anything but themselves most of the time.
Anyway, if you look at the poem, it is basically in Frodo's point of view. I don't want to spoil anything, so that's basically the poem.
I haven't written poetry in about a year now, so being as my first poem in a while it didn't come out terrible. I was really upset 1/4/04 because of my father. He seems to not care about my feelings about what he says. They hurt. Today he said something that make me cry for over an hour and I can't concentrate on my homework because of it. This poem is basically saying how I feel towards my father.

You can almost hear their voice
The beloved sound of language unknown
Fills the untouched, mellow air
Adding a sweet sensation to the peaceful woods.
Though uncertain are our ears
One thing is clear to us.
Dom, they wish to thank you
For all you have done
And wish you have a good year.
Not only do the trees sing a lilting song
But we fans do as well
A ballad to what your soul has done
And showing that hope still draws near
For nature around the world.
Read inside and you will see
That birds, trees and humans alike
Wish you a wonderful birthday.
And hope with all our hearts
All your dreams come true.
